Russia prioritizes Arctic development and coal industry growth

Russia is prioritizing the large-scale development of its Arctic zone to meet national strategic and economic goals. According to Sergey Lavrov, Moscow aims to modernize industrial, transport, and tourism infrastructure in the high latitudes. The region's natural resources and the potential of the Northern Sea Route are central to this strategy. Lavrov noted that while extensive work is underway, Russia remains open to international cooperation with partners based on equality and mutual benefit.

Separately, President Vladimir Putin highlighted Russia's position as a global leader in the coal industry. Noting that the country holds the world's second-largest coal reserves, Putin described the sector as a foundation of the national economy. He emphasized the industry's future through the implementation of digital innovations and high-productivity equipment.
