Russia reports military advances and drone interceptions in Ukraine

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported significant military activity on multiple fronts in Ukraine, claiming advances in five out of six combat sectors. Russian officials stated that their forces have targeted Ukrainian energy and transport infrastructure, as well as air defense radar stations and drone storage facilities.

In the Odesa region, specifically in Yuzhne, Russian strikes reportedly hit five fuel tanks and port infrastructure. Additionally, the Russian military claimed to have intercepted 328 Ukrainian drones over various regions and maritime areas. In the Orenburg region, drone debris caused fires at a warehouse and another economic facility.

Russian President Vladimir Putin commented on the escalation, stating that Russian forces have increased precision strikes against Ukraine’s military-industrial complex to hinder equipment supplies and personnel rotation. He characterized Ukrainian efforts to target the Russian economy as an attempt to defeat Russia quickly.

In response to Ukrainian drone strikes affecting the fuel market, the Russian government has mobilized efforts to secure oil refineries. Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak noted that refineries and Transneft are working to strengthen the security of these facilities.
