Russia retains ambassador in Romania while honoring Moldova envoy Oleg Ozerov

Russia announced it will not withdraw its ambassador from Bucharest, rejecting Romania's claim that Russian drones violated its airspace and the expulsion of a Russian diplomat. Foreign Ministry deputy director Aleksei Fadeev said, "We see no reason to imitate the theatrical gestures of others" and warned that the unfriendly act will receive an appropriate response.

Separately, President Vladimir Putin awarded the Order of Alexander Nevsky to Oleg Ozerov, Russia's ambassador to Moldova, recognizing his long‑standing diplomatic service and his handling of incidents involving Russian drones that fell in Moldovan territory.
