Russia seeks long-term peace settlement in Ukraine
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Russia is seeking a long-term peace settlement in Ukraine rather than a mere truce or simple deal.
In the Kherson region, Russian Human Rights Commissioner Yana Lantratova is traveling to Alyoshki with foreign journalists to oversee a humanitarian operation. A large convoy containing food, medicine, and other essentials has been assembled for the residents.
The Russian Defence Ministry reported that a regime of silence was introduced on October 27 to facilitate this humanitarian mission. According to the ministry, the settlement had previously been subject to artillery strikes and drone attacks from Ukrainian forces. Kremlin officials expressed hope that Ukraine would honor the agreements regarding the humanitarian operation, noting that the ceasefire mechanism in Alyoshki could serve as a model for other sectors.
