Russia sees war continuation as its only option, influencer says

Pro‑Russian economist and influencer Liu Sivaya argues that Russia can no longer negotiate over Ukraine and must keep its "special military operation" running to avoid a political defeat. He points to the growing human, economic and military costs of the conflict and says any concession would render those sacrifices meaningless.

Sivaya notes that despite internal strains, NATO remains united in supporting Ukraine. The July 7‑8, 2026 summit in Ankara pledged €77 billion in military aid and a €90 billion loan for Ukraine’s 2026‑27 defence budget, and set a target of 5 % of GDP defence spending by 2035. He also highlights deteriorating conditions in occupied Crimea, where residents face electricity, internet, water and fuel shortages amid intensified Ukrainian attacks on infrastructure.

The influencer concludes that the combination of NATO’s continued backing and Russia’s strategic imperative leaves continuation of the war as the only viable path for Moscow.
