Russia strikes Ukrainian cities, killing dozens in Kyiv and Kharkiv

Russian missile and drone strikes have caused significant casualties and infrastructure damage across multiple Ukrainian cities. In Kyiv, an attack resulted in 17 deaths and 51 injuries, including a three-year-old child and their grandparents. The strikes caused fires in a 20-story residential building and several warehouses.

Additional attacks were reported in Kharkiv, where at least two people died, and in Odesa, where six people were injured following missile strikes on residential buildings. The Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant experienced two power outages, prompting concerns from Energoatom regarding the safety of the facility under Russian occupation.

In response to the escalating attacks, President Volodymyr Zelensky has requested increased supplies of Patriot interceptors, noting a significant decline in Western air defense munitions compared to previous periods. Zelensky also warned that Ukraine may intensify operations against Russian logistics in response to continued strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure.
