Russian military forces struck a Ukrainian commercial vessel in the Black Sea on Sunday, September 6, 2026. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the vessel was carrying military equipment from Western nations intended for the Ukrainian armed forces.

This incident follows a series of Russian strikes in the Black Sea region. On August 25, the Russian military reported striking three cargo ships carrying supplies for the Ukrainian military, a tanker in the port of Pivdennyi, a cargo ship in Odesa, and port infrastructure in both Pivdennyi and Odesa, as well as a fuel storage facility in Chornomorsk.
