Russia strikes Ukrainian residential areas, causing multiple civilian deaths

Russian military strikes across Ukraine have resulted in significant civilian casualties. In the Chernihiv region, an attack on the town of Priluki hit a five-story residential building, killing 20 people, including five children, and injuring 55 others. In the Poltava region, strikes on Kremenchuk hit four apartment buildings, resulting in two deaths and 33 injuries. In Kyiv, a man and a woman were killed during evening attacks, which also triggered emergency power outages managed by DTEK and Ukrenergo.

In response to the ongoing conflict, the European Union has agreed on a new package of sanctions targeting approximately 1,600 individuals and entities associated with the Russian military and defense industry.

Ukrainian forces have also conducted retaliatory strikes against targets within Russia, including locations in the Black Sea region. Additionally, reports indicate that Russia is deploying soldiers with HIV infections to the front lines.
