Russia suffers heavy tank losses in mechanized assault near Pokrovsk

Russian forces attempted a large-scale mechanized attack toward the Pokrovsk direction, utilizing tanks and infantry fighting vehicles in a manner reminiscent of early invasion tactics. The assault, which took place in two columns moving from Vozdvyzhenka and Novoekonomichne toward Volodymyrovka and Shakove, resulted in significant Russian losses, including seven tanks, six infantry fighting vehicles, and two rocket launchers.

Analysts note that the conflict is currently defined by total drone dominance, making deep incursions and unexpected attacks extremely difficult. Russian forces are reportedly testing new technical solutions intended to protect heavy armor from drones to facilitate a return to large-scale mechanized maneuvers. Meanwhile, the town of Rodynske near Pokrovsk has reportedly fallen, and recruitment for the Russian military is accelerating.
