Russia threatens British military targets amid Ukraine conflict

Russia has issued warnings that British military facilities and equipment, both within and outside of Ukraine, could become targets of attacks. Maria Zakharova, speaking for the Russian Foreign Ministry, stated that the UK is risking devastating consequences by its involvement in the conflict.

The escalation follows the use of British-supplied Storm Shadow missiles by Ukrainian forces, which Russia claims were used to strike the city of Donetsk. Moscow has characterized these actions as terror against civilians.

Separately, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has criticized international partners for their perceived lack of urgency. He remarked that while Ukraine faces intensified Russian strikes on infrastructure, many global leaders appeared to be on summer holidays, suggesting that Western diplomacy is following a rigid schedule rather than responding to the immediate needs of the conflict.
