Russia threatens Poland with total destruction following NATO remarks

Nikolai Patrushev, a Kremlin advisor and former head of the FSB, has issued a threat against Poland, stating the nation would cease to exist within two to three days if it participated in military actions against Russia. Patrushev claimed that Russia has not yet utilized its full military potential during its operations in Ukraine and accused Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski of amateurish assessments of Russian strength.

The escalation follows comments made by Sikorski at the Yalta European Strategy conference in Kyiv, where he asserted that NATO members possess clear military superiority over Russia, particularly in the air. Sikorski noted that European NATO members maintain approximately 2,500 military aircraft and suggested that NATO could disable Russian refinery capacities much faster than Ukrainian strikes have done.

These tensions arise amid recent Russian drone strikes in western Ukraine that hit targets near the Polish border, including a locomotive near the border and a gas station at the Dorohusk-Iagodzin crossing. The Russian Ministry of Defense stated these strikes targeted infrastructure used to transport weapons from Europe to Ukraine.
