Russia threatens Ukraine's economic infrastructure amid calls for more U.S. missiles

Russian President Vladimir Putin has threatened significant retaliation against Ukraine, specifically targeting the nation's economic infrastructure. This strategy involves potential cyberattacks, energy restrictions, and control over export routes, including gas pipelines and electrical grids, to pressure Kyiv and signal a warning to Western nations.

Simultaneously, former U.S. Vice President Mike Pence has urged Washington to bolster Ukraine's air defenses. Following a meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky, Pence noted that Zelensky is requesting approximately five percent of the United States' Patriot missile resources. Pence emphasized that strengthening Ukraine's ability to intercept high-trajectory ballistic missiles could neutralize one of Putin's primary military advantages.
