Russia to unveil Su-57E stealth fighter and secret weapon in Egypt

Rostec plans to showcase the Su-57E, a fifth-generation stealth fighter export variant, at the El Alamein International Airshow in Egypt from September 8 to 10, 2026. The Russian state defense conglomerate intends to unveil a “fundamentally new weapon” system and advanced avionics that have not been previously demonstrated publicly, either within Russia or internationally.

The event will feature the aircraft's debut aerobatic demonstrations in Africa. While Rostec has indicated that deliveries to unnamed international clients are already underway, the specific identities of these buyers remain undisclosed. Analysts have previously speculated on potential interest from countries such as Algeria, though no official confirmation has been made.

This showcase serves as a strategic effort by Rosoboronexport and Rostec to expand Russia's military market presence across the Middle East and Africa, despite ongoing challenges posed by international sanctions.
