Russia urges Greece to safeguard rights of detained suspect ‘Entik’ amid UAE extradition talks

The individual known as ‘Entik’, wanted by Greek and Cypriot authorities for alleged murders linked to the “Greek Mafia” and cigarette smuggling, is being held in the United Arab Emirates. Russian officials have sent a note to Athens stating that Entik is a Russian citizen and demanding that Greek authorities respect his personal safety and legal rights should the UAE transfer him to Greece.

Greek and Cypriot police continue to exchange information on the case, while Entik’s lawyers seek to have him extradited to Russia rather than to Greece. Reports indicate that Entik may hold a Russian passport, which could affect the extradition process. The matter is under review by security and intelligence services in Cyprus as well as Greek officials.
