Russia vows proportionate response to Ukrainian attacks on civilian infrastructure

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated that Russian armed forces will respond proportionately to increased Ukrainian attacks on civilian infrastructure in Russia. In an interview with Izvestia, Zakharova accused the Kyiv administration of intensifying what she termed ‘terrorist attacks’ against civilians and civilian facilities using methods such as attack drones and artillery shelling.

Zakharova emphasized that Russia will continue its ‘special military operation’ to achieve the objectives set by President Vladimir Putin. She noted that while Russia targets Ukrainian military infrastructure, industrial complexes, and personnel, Ukraine is targeting non-military sites. The statement also referenced the ongoing conflict's impact on Western-supplied military equipment, including German Leopard 2 tanks and various American and British armored vehicles.
