Russia warns European arms factories for Ukraine are potential targets

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has stated that European weapons factories producing arms for Ukraine could be considered potential military targets. Zakharova asserted that European nations are directly involved in the conflict through their military support and joint ventures, claiming such actions delay a resolution to the war.

These warnings follow reports of increased hybrid operations attributed to Russia. Estonia recently identified Russian intelligence as being behind an August attack on a defense contractor in Tallinn, while Germany accused Moscow of orchestrating a drone attempt near Leipzig airport. Additionally, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk warned of potential ‘accidental’ Russian drone incursions into NATO territory intended to test alliance unity.

In response to recent Russian warnings regarding the Kaliningrad exclave, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated there is no imminent threat to the alliance's territory. Rutte noted that the overall threat assessment remains unchanged despite Kremlin rhetoric regarding the potential use of nuclear weapons if NATO attempts to isolate the region.
