Russia warns of strikes on UK military targets
Russia has issued a severe warning to the United Kingdom, stating that British military facilities and equipment located both within and outside of Ukraine may become legitimate targets. This escalation follows the decision by British Prime Minister Andy Burnham to facilitate the transfer of technology from the defense company MBDA, which will enable Ukraine to manufacture its own Storm Shadow long-range cruise missiles.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova characterized the UK's actions as aggressive and warned of “inevitable catastrophic consequences” for the British population. She further asserted that any foreign military units deployed in Ukraine that obstruct Russia's military operations will be considered legitimate targets.
In parallel, reports indicate intensified combat activity. Ukrainian forces have conducted drone strikes against a refinery in the Yaroslavl region near Moscow and the port city of Sevastopol in Crimea. Conversely, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported strikes on Ukrainian missile depots and port infrastructure in Kyiv and Odesa. Additionally, Russia has claimed that Ukrainian forces have struck 214 civilian vessels in the Black Sea since the beginning of 2026.
