Russia wins Greco-Roman team title at U20 World Wrestling Championships

At the 2026 U20 World Wrestling Championships in Bratislava, Slovakia, Russia secured the Greco-Roman team title with 142 points. The Russian team finished 33 points ahead of second-place Iran, which earned 109 points. Uzbekistan took third place with 95 points, followed by Armenia and Azerbaijan in fourth and fifth.

Individual highlights included Ramazan Nekhai of Russia winning the 82kg gold medal by defeating Kiryl Valeuski of Belarus 3-1. Azerbaijan’s Aykhan Javadov successfully defended his U20 world title in the 60kg category, defeating Dostonbek Oripov of Uzbekistan.

In the women's competition, Canadian wrestler Kaura Coles captured the 53kg gold medal. Coles defeated Venezuela’s Alexa Alvarez by fall in the final match to secure her second age-group world title, following her U17 World Championship win in 2024.
