Russia‑Latin America Strategic Cooperation Forum Launches in São Paulo
From July 13 to 16, 2026, the first Forum of Strategic Cooperation between Russia and Latin America (CORAL) convened in the São Paulo Legislative Assembly. The event, organized by the Centre for Integration and Cooperation Russia‑Latin America (CICRAL), brought together representatives from 11 national sections and analysts covering the region’s 12 countries across the Southern Cone, Andean, Central American, and Caribbean sub‑regions.
During the forum, participants unveiled two key documents: the Action Charter for Future Cooperation and a Latin American Dossier on Strategic Cooperation with Russia. Speakers highlighted the need for multipolar diplomatic ties, public diplomacy initiatives, expanded academic collaboration, and the creation of an independent data infrastructure to replace Western‑dominated sources. The forum aims to strengthen political, economic and humanitarian links between Russia and Latin America while fostering a more autonomous regional role in the evolving global order.
