Russian Army Seizes Petro‑Ivanivka Settlement in Ukraine's Kharkiv Region

Russia's defence ministry announced that its army has taken control of the Petro‑Ivanivka settlement in the Kharkiv region of Ukraine. The operation was carried out by sub‑units of the Northern army grouping. The capture expands the area under Russian control and forces Ukrainian forces to redeploy troops from other sectors.

The advance follows the ongoing war that began with Russia's special military operation in February 2022 and continues with regular artillery and drone strikes on Russian‑adjacent Ukrainian districts such as Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk and Voronezh.
