Russian attacks strike Ukrainian ports and cities, killing eight civilians

The Russian Ministry of Defence said its forces carried out precision strikes with ground‑based weapons and attack drones against Ukrainian port facilities and merchant vessels. Targets included a fuel‑pumping station and distribution point in Nova Beliari, Odesa province, as well as four dry‑cargo ships carrying military cargo in the ports of Odesa, Yuzhny and at sea.

A separate massive night operation hit industrial, telecommunications and logistics sites in Kyiv, Lviv and regions such as Ivano‑Frankivsk, Rivne and Dnipropetrovsk. The Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, reported eight deaths – three children killed in a ballistic‑missile strike on a house near Krivyi Rih – and dozens of injuries, with extensive damage to residential buildings and commercial infrastructure.

The attacks underscore the ongoing escalation of the Russia‑Ukraine conflict, with Russia responding to Ukrainian drone and missile strikes on Russian territory by targeting what it calls Ukrainian military‑industrial assets.
