Russian bureau wins Belgrade Savski Trg design competition
A Russian architectural bureau has won the first prize in an international competition to design a section of Savski Trg in Belgrade, located near the old railway station. The competition, organized by Belgrade Waterfront and conducted by the Belgrade Urbanism Institute, received nine entries from both Serbian and international participants.
The winning design, which received a 40,000 euro prize, was selected by the jury for being the most comprehensive response to the site's complexity. The concept envisions the square as a new public center called ‘Gallery Park’. The spatial design includes a representative area near the Historical Museum of Serbia, a park area, and a central transit gallery that serves as the primary organizational element and movement axis.
