Russian citizens vote in legislative elections from Guinea and Niger

Russian citizens living in Guinea and Niger participated in the Russian legislative elections held from September 18 to 20, 2026. The elections aim to renew all 450 seats of the State Duma, the lower house of the Russian Parliament.

In Conakry, Guinea, voting took place at the Russian embassy, where Ambassador Alexey V. Popov also cast his vote. Voting operations were also conducted in Fria. In Niamey, Niger, a polling station was opened at the Maison Russe, with Ambassador Viktor Voropaev noting that measures were in place to ensure transparency.

As part of a global effort, 333 polling stations were established across 152 countries. For citizens unable to reach these locations, Russian authorities provided an electronic remote voting platform. The election includes ten political parties and covers all Russian territories, including those designated as new subjects of the Federation since 2022.
