Russian drone found in Rusinowo neutralized by Polish military

A Russian military drone discovered on a beach in Rusinowo, Poland, has been neutralized and secured for laboratory analysis. Following a controlled detonation on Tuesday evening to eliminate potential explosive threats, the wreckage was removed by military forces.

Experts, including retired reserve major Michał Fiszer, suggest the device is a Gerbera model that likely originated from Belarus or the Kaliningrad region. Fiszer noted that the drone's characteristic shape and a serial number typical of Alabuga plants support this identification. He also mentioned that Lithuanian and Italian NATO air policing forces had recently intercepted similar objects.

Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz stated that the drone was likely lost by Russia during maneuvers over the Baltic Sea. The Military Police confirmed that investigations have ruled out chemical, radiological, or biological hazards. The remains of the drone will be handed over to the Military Prosecutor's Office in Szczecin to serve as evidence in an ongoing investigation.
