Russian drone strike hits Security Service of Ukraine headquarters in Kyiv

A Russian drone strike targeted the headquarters of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) in Kyiv, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The strike was reportedly aimed directly at the office of the head of the security service within the building.

Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko reported that five people were injured in the attack, which caused thick black smoke to rise over the SSU headquarters. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha described the strike as a “serious escalation of the conflict” and a rejection of diplomacy, noting that the attack occurred as American mediators prepared to visit Moscow and Kyiv.

This incident follows ten days of continuous drone attacks on Kyiv.
