Russian drone strikes vehicle carrying journalists in Sloviansk

A Russian kamikaze drone struck a civilian vehicle in Sloviansk, Ukraine, carrying journalists Diego Herrera and Mustafa Can. While the reporters escaped without injury, the explosion destroyed Herrera’s vehicle, photographic equipment, press clothing, and laptops.

The incident occurred while the vehicle was parked near a supermarket. According to reports, the attack took place amidst military gunfire responding to the drone's presence. The Ukrainian union attributed the strike to Russian troops.

The Institute of Mass Information noted that Russia has committed 977 offenses against journalists and media outlets since the beginning of the invasion.
