Russian extremist group claims responsibility for European flight bomb threats

The Russian extremist group “Muzhskoye Gosudarstvo” (Male State) has claimed responsibility for a series of bomb threats targeting passenger aircraft across Europe. According to Italian news agencies ANSA and Adnkronos, the group sent emails threatening to “color the sky red” by exploding planes in an effort to fight against a “feminist regime.”

Multiple airlines have been affected, leading to unplanned landings and security diversions. Aer Lingus diverted a flight from Dublin to Rome to land at EuroAirport near Paris, while an Italian military escort accompanied a Finnair flight from Helsinki to Rome. In Bulgaria, three aircraft made emergency landings in Sofia and Plovdiv following threats, though authorities assessed the credibility of the threats as low.

“Muzhskoye Gosudarstvo” is a Russian extremist movement known for targeting women, children, and the LGBT community. While the group has been designated as extremist in Russia, its actual capacity to carry out such attacks remains unclear. European security services are currently monitoring the situation.
