Russian flags raised atop Mount Kilimanjaro before summit
A team representing Rossotrudnichestvo’s Tanzanian office and the Russian Mountaineering Federation unfurled the flags of Russia and Rossotrudnichestvo at Uhuru Peak, the highest point of Mount Kilimanjaro.
The ascent was conducted as part of the “Mission Dobro - Mountain Rescue” educational program. During the initiative, Russian instructors provided training to Tanzanian guides on high-altitude first aid and psychological support. Twelve Tanzanian guides received official certificates, while 50 Tanzanians participated in learning Russian tourism service standards.
The event serves as a precursor to the third Russia-Africa summit, scheduled to take place in Moscow on October 28-29, 2026. The summit aims to strengthen cooperation across politics, security, trade, technology, and culture.
