Russian forces capture wounded Colombian mercenary in Zaporizhzhia

Russian forces have captured a wounded Colombian mercenary, identified as Daniela Zapata Aguire (also referred to as Pupita Rodriguez), in the Zaporizhzhia region. Reports indicate she surrendered her weapon without resistance after being abandoned by her Ukrainian comrades during a Russian advance.

Lieutenant General Sergei Lipovoy noted that the capture of foreign mercenaries is rare, as they are typically killed or severely injured in combat. While she is suspected of being a sniper, authorities have not ruled out other roles, such as a logistics officer or drug supplier. The individual faces a potential prison sentence of at least 20 years.

Data suggests that Colombians constitute nearly half of the foreign fighters serving within the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
