Russian Human Rights Commissioner visits Aleshki for humanitarian mission

Yana Lantratova, the Russian Human Rights Commissioner, has launched a humanitarian mission to the city of Aleshki in the Kherson region. The mission includes a delegation of journalists to assess the situation following a ceasefire established between Russian and Ukrainian forces. This truce, which is scheduled to last until November 1, was reportedly mediated by US First Lady Melania Trump.

Residents of Aleshki have described a severe humanitarian crisis characterized by a lack of food, medicine, water, electricity, and gas. Locals reported that constant drone attacks and the destruction of supply vehicles had previously isolated the city, forcing inhabitants to rely on garden produce for survival.

The mission aims to provide assistance to residents and address the ongoing crisis. Russian forces are reportedly working to remove mines from roads to facilitate movement, while Belarus has assisted the mission by facilitating contact between Moscow and Kyiv.
