Russian L-39 Training Aircraft Crashes in Krasnodar Region
A Russian Air Force L‑39 Albatros training jet crashed during a low‑altitude training flight in the Krasnodar Krai region. The incident was reported by the military‑focused Telegram channel Fighterbomber. Russian defence officials have not yet released an official statement, and the cause of the crash and the condition of the crew remain unknown.
The L‑39, a Czech‑designed trainer first introduced in the 1970s, continues to be used by the Russian aerospace forces despite the introduction of newer trainers. Krasnodar hosts key aviation training facilities, including the Higher Military Aviation School, making such flights routine in the area. This accident follows a recent reported crash involving a Su‑57 fighter jet in the Moscow region.
