Russian media figure proposes US-Russia military alliance to divide Europe
Vladimir Solovyov, a prominent Russian state media commentator and supporter of Vladimir Putin, has proposed the creation of a military coalition between Russia and the United States to divide the European continent into spheres of influence.
During appearances on Russian state television, Solovyov suggested that the two powers should bypass the European Union to unilaterally determine the continent's future arrangement. He proposed stationing Russian and American military bases in major European cities, such as Berlin and Paris, drawing a historical parallel to the year 1814 when allied forces entered Paris following Napoleon's defeat.
Addressing the incoming U.S. administration and Donald Trump, Solovyov suggested a ‘brotherly’ division of Europe. His proposal included specific concessions: Russia would maintain dominance over the European energy market, while the United States would receive Greenland in exchange.
