Russian missile strike kills three at memorial run in Kharkiv region
A Russian Iskander-M ballistic missile strike hit a memorial event in the village of Natalyne, located in the Berestyn district of Ukraine's Kharkiv region. The attack targeted the annual ‘Honor the Warriors, I Run for the Heroes of Ukraine’ memorial run, an event held since 2018 to commemorate fallen defenders.
Ukrainian police and the Kharkiv regional prosecutor's office reported that the strike resulted in three deaths. Among the victims was a local police officer, Lieutenant Oleksiy Zahvazdin. The event, which took place more than 120 kilometers from the front line, was intended as a symbolic act of remembrance for those who died defending the country.
