Russian national detained in Banyuwangi for marijuana possession

Indonesian authorities in Banyuwangi have detained a 36-year-old Russian female national, identified by the initials EV, for possession of marijuana. The arrest occurred at a rental room in the Tegaldlimo district after police received information regarding suspected drug use by a foreign national.

During a search of the premises, officers recovered approximately 11.03 grams of marijuana and one hand-rolled cigarette suspected of containing the substance. A subsequent urine test conducted at the Banyuwangi Police Resort Clinic returned a positive result for THC. EV has been named a suspect under Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics and is currently being held for further legal proceedings.
