Russian propagandist threatens U.S. with nuclear strike

Russian state media commentator Vladimir Solovyov has issued nuclear threats against the United States. During a broadcast on Vesti FM, Solovyov stated that if the U.S. engages in direct military action in Ukraine or attempts to target Russian leadership, it would constitute a reason for a “strategic nuclear strike without any discussions.” These remarks followed comments from U.S. Senator John Kennedy, who advocated for tougher economic sanctions against Moscow and compared Vladimir Putin to a “pirate.”

Separately, analysts have noted increasing signs of tension and heightened security within the Russian regime. Reports suggest that the National Guard has begun escorting prominent state television personalities and managers. Analysts such as Jason J. Smart suggest this increased surveillance may indicate growing distrust within the Kremlin toward its own propaganda elite, who benefit significantly from state contracts and the ongoing conflict.
