Russian Rock to be ridden by Craig Williams at Caulfield

Jockey Craig Williams has secured a riding assignment for the three-year-old colt Russian Rock in the upcoming Group 3 Sportsbet Classic (2000m) at Caulfield this Saturday. The move follows the suspension of Adam McCabe, who was penalized for causing interference during the Stutt Stakes on September 27.

Trainer Michael Trotter, who was traveling abroad when Williams contacted him, noted that the horse is showing improvement and an increasing aptitude for longer distances. Russian Rock has competed in only three races, including a maiden win at Kilmore in September. Trotter indicated that the ultimate goal for the colt is the Victoria Derby (2500m) at Flemington on October 31, provided the horse performs well in Saturday's contest.
