Russian Tennis Player Anastasia Sukhotina Suspended for Anti‑Corruption Violations

The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) has imposed a four‑year‑ten‑month suspension on Russian tennis player Anastasia Sukhotina, effective 17 July 2026 until 16 May 2031. She was also fined US$30,000, of which US$22,500 is suspended, after admitting to eight anti‑corruption rule breaches between 2019 and 2024, including attempts to bet on matches, urging other players to corrupt and destroying evidence. The ban bars her from all ITF, WTA, ATP, Grand Slam and national federation events. Sukhotina, once ranked 607 in the WTA singles, earned one ITF singles title and ten doubles titles.

In a related action, ITIA provisionally suspended Yalchin Manafli, captain of Azerbaijan’s Davis Cup team, after he refused to provide his mobile phone for an investigation. The provisional ban began 11 June 2026 and was upheld by independent anti‑corruption hearing officer Philippe Cavalieros.
