Russian Tourist Dies after Unconscious Discovery in Patong Hotel, Phuket

On 22 July, a 22‑year‑old Russian national identified as Vitaly Nikolaev was found unconscious in a hotel room on Phang Mueang Sai Kor Road in Patong, Phuket, Thailand. Rescue personnel provided initial aid and an ambulance transferred him to Patong Hospital, where he later died.

Patong police, led by Colonel Krokrit Khankruea and Deputy Inspector Narinn Bilson, opened a criminal investigation. No immediate cause of death was disclosed, and the body has been moved to Vachira Phuket Hospital for a post‑mortem examination. Thai authorities are working with the Tourist Police, Immigration Police and the Russian embassy to inform relatives and arrange repatriation of the remains.
