Russia’s Ambassador to Serbia denies Belgrade’s military support for Ukraine
Russian Ambassador to Serbia Aleksandar Bocan-Harčenko stated that Belgrade has no intention of providing official military support to Ukraine. While acknowledging that Serbian-made weapons have appeared on Ukrainian battlefields, he attributed this to unofficial or illegal channels and noted that President Aleksandar Vučić has taken control of weapon production to mitigate tensions with Moscow.
Bocan-Harčenko also commented on regional politics, suggesting that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit to Serbia resulted from European Union pressure on Vučić. He claimed the EU seeks to install a new leader in Serbia who would act as a puppet for EU interests and warned of potential ‘color revolutions’ following elections.
Additionally, during an international conference, the Ambassador emphasized Russia’s commitment to preventing the ethnic cleansing of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija. He asserted that as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, Russia will continue to support Serbia to protect the Serbian people in the region.
