Russia's MC-21-310 completes first production-standard flight

Russia's United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) flew the first production‑standard MC‑21‑310 on 3 August from the Irkutsk Aviation Plant. The jet stayed aloft for about 1 hour 23 minutes, reaching 6 000 m altitude and 600 km/h speed while crews assessed handling and the performance of Russian‑built onboard systems that replace earlier imported components.

The flight was intended to validate the serial‑assembly line, production procedures and flight‑test protocols, aiming to shorten the gap between type certification and commercial deliveries. UAC plans an initial batch of 18 aircraft, and President Vladimir Putin visited the factory in late July to review progress. Certification is expected in 2027, after which deliveries to airlines will begin.
