Russia's military capabilities may increase following Ukraine conflict

Research from the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) suggests that Russia may emerge from the conflict in Ukraine with enhanced military capabilities compared to 2022. Analysts note significant improvements in precision strike technology, specifically through the integration of glide bombs, drones, and sophisticated targeting networks that complement traditional heavy artillery.

Structural improvements and increased combat experience have also been observed, including better operational synergy between military branches and a rise in skilled reconnaissance personnel capable of locating mobile targets.

In a related development, the Ukrainian defense intelligence service (HUR) identified 155 Russian companies, operating under the Rostec-managed holding Ruselectronics, that supply components for Iskander-M and Zircon missiles. The report highlights that nearly 50 percent of these entities currently evade international sanctions, allowing for sustained production of advanced weaponry.

Meanwhile, tensions have escalated between the United Kingdom and the Kremlin. Following reports that London may provide technical expertise for Ukraine to manufacture cruise missiles, Russian officials have issued warnings regarding potential retaliatory strikes. This has fueled concerns in the British press regarding the Poseidon nuclear-capable underwater drone, which is described as capable of triggering devastating tsunamis.
