Russia's United Engine Corporation extends GTD-110M turbine lifespan to 125,000 hours

United Engine Corporation (UEC) is modernising its domestically produced GTD-110M high‑power gas turbine. The upgrade programme targets an operating life of 125,000 hours, a reduction of emissions by a factor of six to eight, and simplification of routine maintenance. Engineers at UEC‑Saturn are also improving the drive‑system efficiency.

During recent tests the turbine ran continuously for three days at its rated 115 MW output, confirming stable performance at full load. Compared with imported equivalents, the GTD-110M is lighter and more compact, easing transport and installation. The upgraded units are intended for both new and existing Russian power plants, expanding the use of home‑grown technology and increasing the energy sector’s independence from foreign equipment.
