Rustenburg celebrates Women’s Month with cultural and educational events

Rustenburg commemorated Women’s Month throughout August 2026 with a series of cultural, artistic, and educational events. The celebrations included Music Week, featuring live performances and a sold-out Music Gala Concert, as well as the premiere of the original drama production ‘Maid of Steel’.

The school also hosted the ‘Celebration of Creativity Exhibition’ for visual arts and the ‘Women & Wisdom in-Conversation’ series, which featured alumna and media personality Samantha Lehoko-Jansen van Vüren. Additionally, students held an assembly to reflect on the historical connections between South Africa’s 1956 Women’s Day and the 1976 Youth Uprising.
