Ruta Migratoria seminar examines migration and border dynamics

The “Ruta Migratoria” seminar has commenced, aiming to provide a critical space for reflecting on the causes and effects of migration. Organized by the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Hidalgo, the four-week program includes three virtual sessions and one in-person component.

Participating institutions include El Colegio de Chihuahua (El Colech) and the Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua (UACH). The seminar focuses on understanding human mobility dynamics and borders in key transit and destination regions. This year, the Universidad Estatal de Nuevo México has joined the initiative, allowing students with U.S. visas to visit the neighboring state and study migrant shelters and transit points.

Key thematic axes include sociodemographic perspectives, migration legislation, gender-based policy, migratory infrastructure, and international protection in Mexico.
