Rutgers athletes qualify for U.S. Women's Amateur and compete at USA Swimming Nationals

Graduate senior Grace Lu earned a spot in the 126th U.S. Women's Amateur Championship, qualifying with a three‑under‑par 69 at Copper Hill Country Club. The tournament will be held Aug. 4‑9 at The Honors Course in Ooltewah, Tennessee, marking the first Rutgers appearance since 2022. Lu also recorded strong finishes at the New Jersey Women's Amateur and Women's Met Open Championships.

Rutgers swimming and diving will be represented by sophomore Emilianna Gonzalez and freshman Journei Webster at the USA Swimming Toyota National Championships in Irvine, California. Gonzalez will race the 50‑meter butterfly and freestyle, while Webster will add the 50‑meter backstroke to her program. Both swimmers have previously set program records and earned national qualifications.

These achievements highlight the Scarlet Knights' presence in high‑level amateur competitions across golf and swimming this summer.
