Ruth Langsford announces death of beloved rescue dog Maggie

TV presenter Ruth Langsford has announced the death of her 16-year-old rescue dog, Maggie. Langsford shared the news on Instagram, stating that the passing was “painless and peaceful” and that she and her family were present until the end.

Langsford and her ex-husband, broadcaster Eamonn Holmes, adopted the border collie cross from a Dogs Trust rescue centre in 2011. Despite their split in 2024, the former couple had continued to share custody of the pet. Holmes had previously noted that Langsford took on much of the dog's care due to his own mobility restrictions.

Following the announcement, several public figures, including Amanda Holden, Dermot O’Leary, and Kelly Brook, offered condolences to Langsford on social media.
