Rwanda and Kenya draw 0-0 in Kigali friendly
Rwanda and Kenya played to a 0-0 draw in an international friendly match held at Amahoro Stadium in Kigali. The goalless result continues a winless streak for Kenya, who previously recorded a 1-1 draw with Eritrea and a 1-0 loss to Guinea during the September-October international window.
Kenya head coach Benni McCarthy utilized the match to rotate his squad, making five changes to the lineup that had faced Guinea. Assistant coach Vasili Manousakis described the draw as a “fair result,” noting that the primary objective was to test younger players and experiment with different tactical setups.
Despite controlling possession at times, Kenya struggled to convert opportunities into goals. Manousakis attributed some performance issues to a lack of player fitness, citing the delayed start of the Kenyan Premier League as a contributing factor.
