RwandAir to expand fleet with four additional Airbus A330s

RwandAir is planning to expand its fleet and network, with expectations to take delivery of four additional Airbus A330-200 aircraft during the current financial year. This follows the delivery of a widebody aircraft in August 2026. The airline’s growth strategy, as outlined by Chief Commercial Officer Reuben Mbonye at the Aviation Africa Summit, focuses on three pillars: fleet, network, and people.

In terms of network expansion, the carrier aims to add new destinations across Europe and the Far East. To support this, RwandAir is working to reduce its aircraft types from five to three and intends to double its fleet within five years. The airline is also investing in its leadership pipeline through RISE, a graduate development program designed to rotate high-potential Rwandan graduates through key departments.

To extend its reach, RwandAir is utilizing strategic partnerships, including a codeshare and interline agreement with EgyptAir and a deepened arrangement with Qatar Airways.
