Ryan Hulance donates £18,000 to charity through aluminum recycling
Ryan Hulance, a 13-year-old from Solihull in the West Midlands, has turned a recycling project into a significant charitable initiative. Since starting at age 10, Hulance has collected approximately 1.5 million aluminum cans through his organization, We Can Community CIC.
By collecting roughly 20,000 cans per week from approximately 200 regular suppliers, including local businesses and neighbors, the project has generated significant funds. Hulance has donated approximately £18,000 to local food banks and charitable organizations, such as the Anawim women's assistance center in Birmingham.
The operation has grown to the point of requiring industrial machinery to process the volume of aluminum. Beyond financial contributions, the initiative has also helped alleviate local recycling pressures in Birmingham during periods of waste collection disruptions.
