Ryan Armour leads Rogers Charity Classic after second round

Ryan Armour holds a one-stroke lead heading into the final round of the Rogers Charity Classic at Canyon Meadows Golf and Country Club. After opening with a 65, the 50-year-old PGA Tour Champions rookie carded a 7-under 63 on Saturday to reach 12-under par.

New Zealander Steve Alker sits in second place at 11-under. Alker surged up the leaderboard by shooting a 9-under 61, matching the tournament’s 18-hole scoring record previously set by Fred Couples, Miguel Ángel Jiménez, Michael Bradley, and Ken Tanigawa.

Nine players are tied for third place at 10-under par. A victory on Sunday would mark Armour’s first win on the PGA Tour Champions circuit and end a winless streak spanning over eight years.
